Accounts Manager - Law Firm - Property - £40,000 - £50,000 per annum
We’re on the lookout for an experienced Accounts Manager to lead the finance function for a busy Property Specialist Solicitors. If you're confident, organised, and fluent in the ins and outs of Solicitors Accounts Rules, this could be your next move.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee Client and Office Accounts, ensuring full compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules
- Maintain and reconcile all ledgers - Client, Office, and Nominal
- Manage month-end processes and deliver Management Accounts and cashflow reports
- Handle VAT returns and coordinate with HMRC
- Lead credit control and ensure timely payments and collections
- Manage outsourced payroll and liaise with external providers
- Coordinate with auditors on year-end accounts and Accountant’s Report
- Monitor regulatory updates and implement changes as needed
- Supervise Accounts Assistants and support wider office administration
- Ensure ongoing compliance with Money Laundering Regulations
- Assist with the implementation of the firm’s Business Plan
- Manage office supplies, equipment and assist with general admin as needed
- Uphold high standards of client care, service quality, and confidentiality
The Candidate
- Extensive legal accounts experience
- Strong knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules, VAT, and AML regulations
- Excellent IT skills, including familiarity with legal case management systems
- Lexcel-accredited firm experience (essential)
Paying between £40,000 and £50,000 per annum with excellent benefits.
