A highly successful accountancy practice is looking to recruit an Accounts Manager for a 12-month FTC to cover maternity leave. You will join a dynamic team and take ownership pf a varied portfolio of clients, working closely with your colleagues to ensure compliance whilst delivering exceptional client service.

As Accounts Manager your responsibilities will include:
- Act as the key contact for nominated clients, overseeing compliance and service delivery
- Ensuring the planning, prioritisation and allocation of client work ensuring effective team workflow, and establishment of scope and budget for each piece of client accounts work under own control and ensure adequate briefing to team members
- Preparation or delegation of key client accounts work in line with agreed budget
- Maximise efficiencies with the team and service line
- Monitor work progress and ensure appropriate levels of communication with all clients
- Build strong, collaborative relationships, ensuring proactive communication
- Work with internal teams to provide a full suite of services and support cross-selling and business development opportunities
- Guide and support junior team members to foster growth and development
- Supervise the rest of the team who are involved in production and delivery of own accounts work
- Provide feedback to all team members involved in specific accounts work to encourage growth and development
- Involvement with the delivery of training for new starters and more junior employees

- Be a qualified accountant with experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment - exceptional non-qualified candidates may be considered
- Experience of managing a client portfolio
- Have experience of the supervision and training of junior staff
- Experience with preparing and reviewing FRS 102 Section 1A accounts
- Experience of reviewing management accounts and supporting clients with their accounting needs
- Experience of preparing and/or reviewing IFRS/FRS101 financial statements preferable but not mandatory to be considered for the role
- Software experience - Xero, Silverfin preferable, Caseware preferable
- Excellent communication skills
