If so, you could be a great fit for an Chief Finance Officer position we are leading on the recruitment of, that will partner with the Executive Team and realign financial strategy with evolving goals of this impactful social change charity.

From those caught up in the criminal justice system to individuals struggling with homelessness, the work empowers people to turn their lives around and achieve independence.

The RoleAs Chief Finance Officer, you will play a critical role in steering the organisation through a challenging but pivotal period of realignment. Working closely with the CEO and Board of Trustees, you will drive financial transformation, ensuring finance, ICT & systems, quality assurance, safeguarding, and contract compliance functions are robust, future-proof, and fully aligned with the new strategic direction.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on, change-focused leadership to stabilise and strengthen finance through a time of transition.
  • Partner with the CEO and fellow executives to redefine and implement a financial strategy that supports long-term sustainability.
  • Oversee and realign the financial health of the organisation, ensuring rigorous budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Enhance financial transparency and management information to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Foster a business partnering culture, ensuring corporate services work collaboratively across the organisation to support strategic priorities and operational needs.
  • Ascertain the system needs of the organisation and lead on improving systems to meet these.
  • Embed quality assurance and safeguarding best practices across all functions.
  • Ensure contract compliance and effective management of outsourced service providers.
  • Drive a culture of agility, accountability, and continuous improvement across corporate services.

Who We're Looking For:You'll be a qualified accountant with significant experience as a Director of Corporate Services or similar leadership role within the charity sector, particularly in an interim capacity or change-focused role. You will bring:

  • Strong financial acumen, with expertise in transformation, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
  • Experience navigating organisational change and realignment, ensuring finance and operations support strategic goals.
  • A deep understanding of UK finance regulations.
  • Exceptional leadership and strategic planning skills, with the ability to drive positive organisational change under tight timelines.
  • A track record of developing high-performing teams and fostering a culture of resilience and adaptability.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, able to engage effectively with trustees, funders, and staff at all levels.
