Exciting opportunity for a Director Trade Finance Senior Credit Officer with a leading UK Corporate Bank in London.

Role Description

Key responsibilities will include:

    • Fostering a collaborative environment between the First Line of Defence (1LOD) and Second Line of Defence (2LOD) by promoting open communication, teamwork, and mutual understanding to enhance risk management practices.
    • Bridging the gap between the two lines of defence by facilitating Credit's ability to support Trade & Working Capital's growth strategy and entrenching a consistent and efficient Credit risk management approach.
    • Reviewing and signing-off new transactions across core trade, open account trade and structured trade, while supporting the wider Credit team in analysing and assessing transactions. Provide insight into and critical assessment of operational processes.
    • Working with Product and Product Risk to ensure the data framework is appropriate and review key trends, connections, and concentrations across the trade portfolio then provide key recommendations.
    • Introducing and implementing industry best practices to enhance efficiency, compliance, and overall operational effectiveness across product governance, policy, and operational process.
    • Representing Credit at Trade product and portfolio governance/approval forums.
    • Creating and delivering training and mentoring programs on Trade and Working Capital to support development of the wider CIB Credit team's skills and capabilities.
    • Taking the initiative to drive projects and improvements by proactively identifying opportunities for enhancement and leading efforts to implement changes.
    • Working in a high profile, professional, and demanding environment committed to putting people first, being bold, trusting each other, and embracing our differences.
    • Ultimately Line Managing direct reports and playing a key role in their career development. Coaching other colleagues throughout CIB Credit.

Profile

Exciting opportunity for a Director Trade Finance Senior Credit Officer with a leading UK Corporate Bank in London.

What you'll need:

    • A strong Credit background in Trade Finance across corporates and financial institutions covering core trade, open account (receivables, payables and inventory finance) and structured trade including trade lending and borrowing base transactions.
    • An understanding of credit models including PDs and LGDs
    • Good operational understanding of Trade & Working Capital Products.
    • At the forefront of the latest market and product trends including open account platforms.
    • Track record in identifying and delivering change.
    • Experience of demonstrating sound judgement and decisiveness.
    • Sophisticated financial and non-financial analytical skills and critical analysis skills.
    • Advanced knowledge of documentary terms.
    • Ability to establish strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
    • Demonstrable high levels of attention to detail, numeracy, and accuracy.
    • Experience of leading teams and line management.
    • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and across different audiences including Senior Sanctioners on complex issues / risks, with strong written and verbal communications skills.
