WE Talent is recruiting on behalf of our client for a Finance and Operations Manager who will work beyond standard finance responsibilities.

This role is ideal for someone keen to work as a core member of the management team, reporting to the Director you will be confident to deputise when required and work towards career progression.

With a strong finance background, you will enjoy advising, guiding, and supporting operational teams - while applying your expertise in data analysis, reporting, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyse management accounts, board papers, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal and external audits (in office and on site - UK travel expected).
  • Work closely with operational teams, providing financial advice and insights.
  • Support process improvements, financial controls, and policy development.
  • Write and compile lengthy reports including a mix of financial and operational information.
  • Analyse and interpret data sets to support decision-making.
  • Supervise and mentor an accountant handling day-to-day finance operations.
  • Participate in compliance reviews.

What We’re Looking For:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) qualification.
  • Experience in accounting, audit, or financial advisory, this role may suit someone from an accountancy practice background.
  • Strong analytical skills - ability to interpret and present financial data.
  • Comfortable in an SME environment, with the ability to work flexibly across teams.
  • Advanced Excel skills (vlookup, sumif, ifs, etc)
  • A confident decision maker, able to make difficult decisions and communicate these to external stakeholders
  • A proactive, problem-solving approach with a keen eye for detail
  • The ability to write reports - financial and operational - either proven experience of this or the ability and willingness to learn
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to oversee operational teams
