Harper May is partnering with a leading real estate group that is seeking a Finance Director to lead its finance function through a period of continued growth and portfolio expansion. With a strong reputation for delivering high-value developments and asset management across commercial and residential sectors, the business requires a strategic finance leader to guide performance, governance, and long-term planning.

Role Overview:As Finance Director, you will play a central role in shaping financial strategy, overseeing reporting, and ensuring the business maintains robust financial discipline. Reporting to the Board, you’ll lead a high-performing finance team and act as a key advisor to senior stakeholders on investment, risk, and growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic modelling across the group

  • Oversee monthly management reporting, financial analysis, and commentary for senior stakeholders

  • Manage all statutory reporting and ensure compliance with tax, audit, and regulatory requirements

  • Work closely with development and asset management teams to support commercial planning and investment appraisals

  • Maintain strong controls over working capital, funding, and cash flow

  • Provide Board-level financial insight and recommendations on long-term strategy

  • Liaise with external partners including auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions

  • Develop and mentor the finance team, embedding best practices and operational excellence across the function

Key Requirements:

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified with significant post-qualified experience

  • Strong track record in a senior finance role within the real estate, property development, or asset management sector

  • Commercially minded with proven experience in managing large-scale investments or project financing

  • Deep technical accounting knowledge with a hands-on approach to leadership

  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence at board and investor level

  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing both financial operations and strategic planning
