To help support the growth of this team, we are delighted to be working with Barnet Council in their search for five Finance Managers across a variety of areas.
A dedicated technical Finance Manager opportunity has arisen on a permanent basis to support the Chief Accountant. The role will play an integral part in supporting the year-end process and statement of accounts.
As a Finance Manager, you will be expected to be a professional lead within your area of finance, providing expertise and high-quality financial services to senior stakeholders, proactively contributing to the achievement of the finance service’s vision, and contributing towards an innovative, high-performance, and continuous improvement culture.
Your key accountability will cover strategic liaising with auditors and internal stakeholders to resolve queries and requests. As well as assisting with some year-end notes to the accounts and working on reserves, provisions, grants and the implementation of IFRS 16. Your role will include but not be limited to, other responsibilities, including resolving other issues and queries around closure and the balance sheet.
You will also be responsible for managing, inspiring, and motivating one Assistant Finance Manager.To be successful in this role, you will be fully CCAB qualified with substantial financial accounting experience within a public sector or not-for-profit organisation. Although we are open-minded on sector, it is essential that you have experience with complex accounts and have a proven technical ability.
You will have strong analytical skills and the ability to think critically, apply innovative and creative thinking to address complex service challenges.
