Kenny Recruit have partnered with a charity to find a Finance Manager on a 6 month fixed term contract. This is a part time role, 28 hours a week. As the Finance Manager, you will run the day to day of the finance function for the organisation. You will prepare, develop and analyse data. Budgeting, forecasting and finance planning will be your responsibility. You will support the Board members as well as the line managers and CEO.

Pay: £42,000 - £46,000 per annum (FTE, dependant on experience)Location: London (2 days in the office)Working hours: 9:00am - 5.00pm

Key Responsibilities:

Maintaining Records & Financial Controls

  • Daily oversight of financial controls, systems and practices for the organisation
  • Ensuring all payments and expenses are correctly procured, processed and paid, including monthly salary and pensions payments; reconciliation of accounts; income control, invoicing of funders and training participants; dealing with Donations and Gift Aid

Timely, Accurate Reporting

  • Production of monthly and quarterly management reports to senior management
  • Preparation of draft year-end accounts
  • Preparation of annual budgets and reforecasts as required
  • Preparation of cash flow statements, income and expenditure accounts and tax returns
  • Responsible for and actively managing the systems surrounding all aspects of the charity's financial management, including working with charity’s accountants and auditors.

Supporting Decision Making / Fundraising

  • Analysing variances in monthly, quarterly & annual reports and exploring potential impact with the CEO and the Board’s Finance Committee
  • Preparation of quarterly Board reports and active participation in Finance & Audit Committee
  • Providing financial support for the fundraising department for funding applications and grant maintenance e.g. preparing reports to funders, delivery service costing models etc.

Team Management

  • Oversee the recruitment, selection, induction and training of other finance staff
  • Provide line management support for our Finance Assistant

Requirements:

  • Fully or part qualified accountant - CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent
  • First-hand experience of planning, budgeting and forecasting in a non-for-profit organisation
  • First-hand experience of income, expenditure and cash-flow modelling in a nonfor-profit organisation
  • First-hand experience of statutory reporting for charities and understanding of relevant regulations
  • Ability to articulate financial concepts and information clearly to non-finance professionals and volunteers
  • Prior exposure or experience with Board reporting and preparing information packs; ideally as an observer or participant in an Audit & Finance Committee
  • An understanding of funding mechanisms and income streams in the non-forprofit sector in the UK
  • Used to working in fast moving environments providing accurate and timely information to a high standard
