We are a fast-growing technology business seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Finance Manager to support the day-to-day running of the finance function. This is a key operational role that ensures the accuracy of financial records, reporting, and transactional processes across the business. Working closely with the Finance Director, the Finance Manager will lead the execution of core finance activities including monthly reporting, cash flow tracking, reconciliations, and budgeting support. This role also includes the management of our outsourced finance operations team ensuring they are aligned and delivering to expected service levels.

The Job:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
  • Oversee the general ledgers and ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Manage and coordinate the outsourced finance team , ensuring timely and accurate delivery of transactional finance tasks (e.g. AP/AR, reconciliations).
  • Act as the primary day-to-day contact for the outsourced team, reviewing outputs and providing guidance as needed.
  • Ensure communication and alignment between the outsourced team and internal finance processes.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing, payment runs, and debtor management.
  • Manage bank reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and weekly cash monitoring.
  • Support in preparation of VAT returns and other statutory filings.
  • Support the Finance Director in preparing annual budgets, quarterly reforecasts and five-year plans.
  • Assist with tracking actuals vs budget and preparing variance analysis, working closely with department heads in delivering departmental reports.
  • Identify and implement improvements in finance systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Document finance procedures and support internal compliance.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure finance systems integrate effectively with other business tools (e.g., CRM, project management software).
  • Support the Finance Director in building reports and analysing data using Excel and internal platforms.

Skills Required:

  • Part-qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA, or qualified AAT with relevant experience.
  • Experience working in an SME or multi-entity business environment is desirable.
  • Prior experience managing or coordinating with offshore or outsourced finance teams is a strong plus.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, basic modelling).
  • Experience with Xero, NetSuite, or similar cloud-based accounting systems.
  • Exposure to international operations or multi-currency environments.
  • Interest in technology and improving finance through systems and automation.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Good communicator, comfortable working with remote teams and stakeholders.
  • Proactive, hands-on, and open to working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
