Marks Sattin is partnering with a dynamic privately owned group with a diverse portfolio across retail, real estate, hospitality, and financial services. With a strong footprint in the UK and operations globally, this is a rare opportunity to step into a pivotal Group Employment Tax Manager role, working across multiple businesses during a key period of transformation and growth.

Reporting directly to the Head of Tax, you'll lead the charge on all things employment tax - becoming the go-to expert for the group, trusted by senior stakeholders and business partners alike. This role is both strategic and hands-on, offering a real opportunity to make an impact and shape the future of the employment tax landscape across the group.

Key Responsibilities:

* Take ownership of the employment tax agenda across the group, setting direction and ensuring robust compliance with all relevant legislation (PAYE, benefits, IR35, PSA, NMW, apprenticeship levy, CIS, etc).

* Act as a key adviser on tax implications for new contracts, global mobility, restructuring, and reward initiatives.

* Lead operational delivery through collaboration with HR, payroll, legal, and finance - using your influencing skills to drive outcomes.

* Proactively manage relationships with HMRC, including resolving live enquiries and mitigating potential risks.

* Continuously look for ways to improve efficiency, streamline processes, and embed best practice across the function.

About You:

* A credible, senior employment tax professional with a track record of managing risk and delivering value in a complex, fast-paced environment.

* Comfortable operating across multiple businesses, influencing senior leaders and rolling up your sleeves when needed.

* Strong technical grounding across the full spectrum of employment taxes - with retail sector experience seen as a bonus.

* Gravitas, commercial acumen, and a collaborative approach are key - this is a relationship-driven business.

* Systems-savvy - confident in Excel and ideally familiar with Oracle or equivalent platforms.

This is a great opportunity to take ownership of a high-profile role in a well-respected group with interesting, varied work and exposure at senior levels. If you're looking for a role where you can make a difference - this one's not to be missed.
