Robertson Bell are supporting a highly regarded Higher Education institution with a strong financial position to recruit an interim FP&A Lead, on an initial six-month contract.

This is a high-impact role and newly created in the organisations structure to modernise processes and undertake high level analysis work both internally and externally.

Due to the nature of the requirement, our client is offering a high degree of flexibility on the hybrid working arrangement to secure the right candidate.

The interim FP&A lead will be responsible for:

  • Drive the development and delivery of detailed financial analysis with a focus on the organisations cost base to facilitate efficiency.
  • Support the development of zero-based budgeting, deriving from ascertaining cost of delivery.
  • Lead benchmarking initiatives, comparing organisational costs and performance metrics against peer institutions in the higher education sector.
  • Build and enhance robust financial models to support strategic decision-making and scenario planning.
  • Partner with stakeholders across departments, providing clear and insightful financial narratives to inform leadership decisions.
  • Take initiative in identifying opportunities for financial improvement and support long-term planning processes.

You will have:

  • Proven experience in financial planning and analysis roles, with a strong emphasis on financial modelling and stakeholder engagement.
  • A proactive approach to work, analytical mindset and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced Excel user with a strong track record in building and maintaining financial models.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and engaging way.
  • Experience in the higher education sector.
  • A UK recognised finance qualification.
