Robertson Bell is partnering with a prominent Central Government department to recruit an experienced Interim Project Manager (Finance) on an initial six-month contract.
This role is pivotal in driving finance-related projects forward, particularly in areas where project management expertise is currently lacking. The successful candidate will bring structure, coordination, and project management methodologies to the finance team, ensuring the successful delivery of key initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage finance-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with departmental objectives.
- Implement and maintain project management tools and methodologies, including: Risk Registers, Issue Logs, Project Trackers, RAID Logs, Gantt Charts, RAG Status Reports, and Action and Decision Logs
- Coordinate Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within the finance team to ensure effective collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Embed project governance frameworks and promote best practices across the finance function.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
Candidate Profile:
Essential
- Proven experience in project management, specifically within finance-related projects.
- Solid understanding of financial terminology and processes.
- Experience working within central government or public sector environments.
- Demonstrated ability to implement project management tools and methodologies effectively.
- Excellent coordination and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
- Project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, MSP).
- Current SC Clearance.
