Part time Finance Director – CPG startup

3 days p/w - (1 day p/w in City of London office)

£130/150k (pro rata) + options

Talentedge are proud to be partnering with an early-stage, hyper-growth omnichannel CGP (consumer packed goods) startup on their #1 finance position.

The business will close this year with £11m+ revenues (£6m last year) and are forecasting £20m next. Their US business is thriving with their products being sold in major outlets, continuing on from their already-live UK partnerships with Tier 1 retailers and brands.

It’s fair to say that we know the business well having placed their 1 st permanent finance hire (Financial Controller) into the business who is currently excelling at leading the day-to-day function.

Working with closely with incredibly passionate co-founders as well as a hugely impressive leadership team (including a superstar COO), Board and advisors, this is an exciting opportunity to join a business who are making big waves across their field and are fast becoming the market leaders owing to their unique & custom created products.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day finance function
  • Turn data generated into meaningful insights to drive business decision making
  • Partner the Co-Founders and COO on monitoring and executing the Business Plan; driving growth and performance of the business
  • Lead on company FP&A, commercial finance, business partnering and KPI analysis
  • Drive business expansion, both in terms of geographical remit, new product launches and partnership management
  • Manage relationships with Investors and drive future fundraising activities
  • Own cash and working capital management. Manage the treasury requirements of the business, including foreign exchange
  • Continue to evolve robust financial systems and controls, taking responsibility for risk and finance policies; multi-jurisdiction tax analysis, planning and structuring
  • Regularly initiate full operational review to improve order fulfilment performance
  • Develop tracking methods for all costs, in particular production-related ones

Profile:

  • Qualified accountant
  • Experience of working within a high growth FMCG / FMG / CPG startup with an excellent understanding of the key market drivers and potential issues
  • A proven Finance Director / CFO with a demonstrable track record of scaling a hyper-growth business
  • Significant fundraising experience
  • US experience is advantageous (however if not then definitely multi-national)
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel
  • An articulate and inquisitive business partner who equally loves rolling their sleeves up & getting their hands dirty
  • Experience with Xero & Unleashed
