Private Client Tax & Trusts Specialist - London (Hybrid)Manager, SM, or Director Level
An established, full-service legal practice based in Central London is seeking a Senior Private Client Tax & Trusts Specialist to join its growing Private Client department. The firm is known for its collaborative and supportive culture, with a strong reputation in the market for providing high-quality legal and tax advisory services to high-net-worth individuals and families.
The RoleReporting directly to the Head of Private Client Tax, you will take a lead role in delivering and developing in-house tax services, focusing primarily on:

Taxation of UK trusts and estates

Preparation of trust and estate accounts

Inheritance tax and capital gains tax matters

UK tax residency and transition issues
-
Advisory work on complex trust arrangements (UK and offshore)

Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, and advisors

Supporting the transition of tax work currently outsourced to third parties back in-house
If joining at a more senior level, you'll also be expected to contribute to business development and client acquisition initiatives.
The CandidateWe're looking for a highly experienced individual with a strong background in private client tax, trusts, and estates. Ideally:

CTA and/or STEP qualified

Extensive experience in trust and estate taxation and compliance

Strong advisory background with HNW clients

Offshore trust knowledge is desirable but not essential

Comfortable working independently and collaboratively

Commercially minded, with the ability to contribute to business growth

Medium-sized, London-based law firm with around 60 staff and a single office

Known for its close-knit, non-hierarchical culture

Private Client department is well-respected and led by a senior practitioner with deep experience in private client tax

The firm is transitioning to a limited company structure in April 2025
Work Environment

Hybrid working model (typically 3 days in the office)

Competitive salary (£80k-£120k dependent on level, experience and qualifications)
