In this mixed compliance and advisory role, you will take responsibility for a varied portfolio of personal tax clients, including high-net-worth individuals, non-domiciled clients, sole traders, partnerships, and offshore trusts.

Role Responsibilities
  • Managing a mixed portfolio of personal tax clients, including non-doms, HNWIs, sole traders, partnerships, and offshore trusts
  • Supporting partners in delivering advisory work, including preparing detailed reports on IHT planning, residence, pre-arrival planning, and offshore structures
  • Attending and preparing for client meetings, setting budgets, and ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery of follow-up work
  • Liaising directly with clients on a range of matters, including inheritance tax, income tax, and capital gains tax
  • Overseeing the preparation and review of tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK tax regulations
  • Corresponding with HMRC on s9A enquiries and preparing disclosures under the digital disclosure facility
  • Managing and developing junior staff, providing guidance and ensuring high standards of client care
  • Monitoring budgets and chargeability, and contributing to the firm’s business development through networking and in-house publications
  • Aiding the development of junior staff by reviewing work, delivering training and offering feedback

Candidate Requirements
  • CTA qualified with a minimum of 5 years of private client tax experience
  • Qualified by experience also considered
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with non-domiciled clients and offshore structures
  • Strong client-facing skills, comfortable with regular client interaction and meetings
  • Excellent organisational skills to manage deadlines and client expectations
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency with CCH packages and SharePoint
  • Experience in staff management and development, with a commercial awareness
  • A drive to progress within the firm
