- Lead and manage a team of Technical Claims Adjusters, ensuring effective resource planning, performance management, and professional development.
- Oversee complex and high-value claims (typically with reserves exceeding €100k), including bodily injury and third-party liability claims across Motor, Employers’ Liability, Public Liability, and General Liability lines.
- Personally manage a portfolio of large and complex claims, setting reserves, authorising payments, and ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with external partners such as MGAs, TPAs, legal counsel, and medical experts, including conducting audits and overseeing outsourced claims handling.
- Drive operational excellence by monitoring KPIs, producing detailed monthly and quarterly reports, and identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support strategic initiatives such as commutations, legacy projects, and reinsurance asset valuations in partnership with the Business Development and European Operations teams.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to Group standards across all claims portfolios.
- Extensive technical claims experience, particularly in bodily injury and liability claims, with a strong track record of favourable settlements.
- Proven leadership skills, including managing teams, setting strategy, and developing talent.
- Experience managing TPAs and MGAs, including conducting audits and ensuring compliance with service level agreements.
- Strong knowledge of UK and European insurance and reinsurance markets, including legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Advanced analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to interrogate claims data and produce actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to represent the company externally and collaborate across departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with commutations is a plus.
- Fluency in French or German would be highly desirable, though not essential.
