Trade Finance Project Manager sought by leading investment bank based in the city of London.

**Inside IR35 - 3 days a week on site** - Trade finance systems knowledge is essential.

Profile Summary

To provide project management on key IT investment projects and workstreams, specifically to oversee the IT migration to a new Trade Finance application and updates to supporting business processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Overall programme/project management of all assigned IT programmes/projects including without limitation preparation of the project initiation document (PID), project plan (Gantt chart), project organisation chart, project budget application, quality management and system release documentation
  • Responsible for delivering strategic objectives across business lines via projects and programmes
  • Ensure projects are delivered against the project plan and all milestones are met
  • Managing changes and ensuring appropriate documentation is available (PID, BRD, FRDs etc)
  • Deployment and release coordination
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in front, middle and back office.
  • Set up Steering Committees and cross functional governance structures
  • Monthly preparation and reporting to Project Steering Committee, where applicable
  • Preparation of IT Strategy Committee or C-Suite level documentation where required for the project
  • Work with sponsors to build out business cases/ROI allowing for projects to be prioritised and launched with Head office in the correct order.
  • Co-work with the IT planning team and HO liaison teams to get the budget approved
  • Ensure projects are tracked against budget and delivered within the approved budget
  • Vendor management including negotiating statement of works, contracts and service level agreements
  • Identification and management of cross project risk, issues, dependencies and assumptions ensuring the correct actions are taken when required
  • Proactively resolve risks and issues escalating when required
  • Managing internal and external resources in a matrix organisation project structure
  • Ensure all project deliverables created adhere to the required quality/risk management policies
  • Weekly project status reporting to the planning team and IT leadership team (plus other stakeholders where applicable)

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Specific

  • Detailed knowledge and experience of Trade Finance system projects (Required)
  • Knowledge and experience of end-to-end Trade Finance business processes (Desirable)
  • Knowledge and experience of Eximbills (Desirable)

General

  • Relevant Project management qualification (APM, PMP etc)
  • Good understanding of project management methodologies including agile (Scrum and Kanban ceremonies)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • In depth knowledge of all areas of IT
  • Understanding of financial market products
  • Customer focused with a service delivery mentality
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
