We are working with a highly respected and long-established accountancy and private wealth advisory firm in London that is looking to appoint a Trust Tax Manager to join their Private Client team. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional with strong technical knowledge and a passion for trust and estate taxation to work with an exceptional client base. You will be managing a portfolio of UK and offshore trusts, estates, and high-net-worth individuals, with a focus on delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of UK and non-UK trusts, estates, and high-net-worth individuals, ensuring timely and accurate tax return compliance.
  • Provide expert advice on Inheritance Tax (IHT), Capital Gains Tax (CGT), Income Tax, and trust structuring.
  • Liaise with trustees, beneficiaries, solicitors, and other stakeholders on technical and planning matters.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of trust tax returns, R185s, and IHT accounts. Identify tax planning opportunities and ensure clients are updated on legislative changes. Review junior team members' work, offer coaching and technical support, and help develop the wider team.
  • Support partners with complex tax planning matters and bespoke advisory projects.

Ideal Candidate:

  • CTA qualified (or equivalent), STEP qualification is highly advantageous.
  • Strong experience in trust and estate taxation, ideally from a top-tier or boutique private client firm. Deep understanding of UK trust tax law and wider private client tax legislation.
  • Client-focused with excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Highly organised and able to manage deadlines, complex client needs, and workflow efficiently.
  • Familiarity with trust accounting and tax software (e.g. CCH, Digita, IRIS).
