New Opportunity - Practice Manager / Senior Wealth Management Administrator - Moorgate London

We are recruiting for an experienced Wealth Management Practice Manager with some paraplanning experience to work within a highly successful Principal Partner Practice of St. James’s Place Wealth Management based in Moorgate, London.

Role overview

In order for the Senior Partner to continue to provide holistic advice and manage a small team of advisers and support staff, he is recruiting an experienced Practice Manager to support him to service his client base.

My client is a Senior Partner of the business, and this employed role will report directly into him. Ideally the candidate will be part or fully diploma level 4 qualified in financial planning (or equivalent) and looking to maintain a long-term role within a senior administrative capacity rather than seeking to become a financial adviser themselves. In addition to an experienced Practice Manager, my client is also open to an experienced Senior PSS / Administrator with SJP / basic paraplanning knowledge acquired through experience, looking to progress their career into a Practice Manager role.

Role content:

The role will include, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

Client / Team communication.

  • Pro-active and structured approach to the Practice’s administration needs, ensuring the smooth running of the back-office support
  • Dealing with client queries via telephone, email, face-to-face or in writing as required
  • Supporting junior advisers and their administrators to ensure they are fully trained and competent in their roles as required
  • Arrange client meetings with the financial adviser

Meeting preparation

  • Using financial software to provide data analysis of clients’ funds and investments (via FE Analytics / Voyant once trained)
  • Producing personalised illustrations, and obtaining up to date wealth accounts
  • Preparing critical yield calculations
  • Liaising with pension and investment companies
  • Preparing meeting packs in advance of client meetings

Administration

  • Liaising with internal SJP central administration centres regarding client’s funds and investments
  • Switching of client funds and processing fund surrenders
  • Setting up new clients on iBusiness, and keeping all client information up to date where required
  • Issuing and chasing letters of authority
  • Using Salesforce on a daily basis to maintain accurate client details.
  • Using internal systems to produce suitability reports for clients

Business Processing

  • Electronic Business Submission processing
  • Processing paper application forms
  • Basic suitability letter preparation
  • Using Salesforce

Technical skills required

  • SJP PSS Accreditation (bronze to platinum level) highly advantage, but not essential
  • Part or fully Diploma level 4 in financial planning. Completion of one or more RO exam highly desirable (or qualified via experience).
  • Previous Financial Service experience supporting a financial adviser internal or external to SJP essential
  • First class organisational skills to deliver against a wide variety of tasks
  • Effective communication skills verbally, face to face and in writing
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexibly
  • Highly computer literate: Word, Excel, Outlook

Additional Information

  • Basic salary: £30-40k starting salary (dependent on skills and experience)
  • Working hours: Full time, Monday to Friday (option of hybrid working one day a week once fully trained in role).
  • Training: Full training provided on all processes and systems
  • Qualifications: Support to complete level 4 diploma in financial planning (or equivalent) qualification as part of the role if required
  • Pension: Auto-enrolment pension scheme
  • Holiday entitlement: 25 days, plus bank holidays
  • Location: Moorgate, London
  • Start date: June / July 2025
