The Class Teacher should have knowledge of:
  • The theory and practice of providing effectively for the individual needs of all children
  • Knowledge of teaching synthetic phonics and developing children's early reading and writing skills
  • The monitoring, assessment, recording and reporting of pupils' progress

Class Teacher skills:
  • Promote the school's aims and Catholic ethos positively and use effective strategies to monitor motivation and morale
  • Develop good personal relationships within a team
  • Create a happy, challenging and effective learning environment both inside the classroom and in the outdoor area
  • Adapt planning based on children's needs and next steps
