Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers, build confidence, and re-engage with education? Tempest Resourcing is seeking resilient, empathetic, and proactive Positive Behaviour Mentors to work across therapeutic schools and PRUs (Pupil Referral Units) in South London.

This role is perfect for those with experience in youth work, behaviour support, mental health, sports coaching, or anyone driven to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.

About the Role

You will work closely with pupils who have experienced trauma, disrupted education, SEMH needs, or challenging behaviour. These pupils thrive with structure, consistency, and trusted adults who can help them regulate emotions and rebuild positive relationships.

Your role is to mentor, guide, and support pupils throughout the school day-using a therapeutic, patient, and relational approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils through daily mentoring
• Support students with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and coping strategies
• Provide 1:1 and small-group interventions
• Promote positive behaviour using restorative and therapeutic approaches
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and senior leaders
• Help re-engage pupils with learning and improve attendance, motivation, and confidence
• Act as a positive role model-calm, consistent, and encouraging

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

• Has experience in PRUs, SEMH schools, therapeutic settings, or youth work
• Understands challenging behaviour and responds with patience and empathy
• Can stay calm under pressure and diffuse difficult situations
• Believes in second chances, fresh starts, and building resilience
• Has strong communication and the ability to motivate disengaged learners
• Is committed to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable young people
