Join a dynamic team in Newham as an Arrears Monitoring and Repossession Coordinator, where you will play a key role in preventing homelessness by supporting tenants with rent arrears and managing the repossession process with a customer-focused approach. THE ROLE
As an Arrears Monitoring and Repossession Coordinator, you will be responsible for monitoring rent arrears across temporary accommodation and coordinating legal processes to prevent homelessness.
- Provide accurate and timely arrears data reporting to management
- Work with clients and partner agencies to deliver early intervention
- Coordinate legal proceedings to recover possession in arrears cases
- Support clients to sustain their tenancies and avoid eviction
- Develop and maintain effective arrears management systems and procedures
- Represent the council at court hearings, panels, and key meetings
- Deliver training and updates to staff on arrears and eviction processes
To be considered for this role, you must have previous experience working in a similar arrears or tenancy sustainment role, ideally within a housing or local authority setting.
- Strong understanding of rent arrears management and repossession processes
- Experience in coordinating legal action and working with legal services
- Ability to deliver customer-focused support to vulnerable tenants
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with clients and landlords
- Good working knowledge of housing legislation and best practice in arrears prevention
Working Hours: Full Time, 36 Hours per Week
Length of Contract: 3 Month Contract, Temp to Perm Opportunity
Rate: The pay for the role is 20.00 per hour LTD. The PAYE equivalent is 17.16 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay. HOW TO APPLY
