Behaviour Mentor - Secondary School - Islington

Full Time | Term Time Only | October 2025 Start
Up to 125 per day | Long Term Role (Temp to Perm)

Long Term Futures are working with a large, well-led secondary school in Islington to appoint a confident and experienced Behaviour Mentor to join their pastoral team from September 2025.

This is a key role supporting Key Stage 3 and 4 students, with some responsibilities extending to Key Stage 5. You'll work closely with the Heads of Year and wider pastoral staff to implement behaviour strategies, support student reintegration, and help remove barriers to learning across the school.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, professional, and passionate about supporting young people to reach their full potential-academically, socially and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide behaviour support across KS3, KS4, and occasionally KS5
* Work 1:1 and in small groups with students needing additional pastoral intervention
* Support Heads of Year with attendance, behaviour tracking, and reintegration
* Assist in delivering mentoring sessions, emotional regulation strategies, and de-escalation
* Act as a consistent adult presence across corridors, social times and targeted lessons
* Contribute to behaviour plans, safeguarding meetings and progress tracking

Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience working with secondary-aged students with behavioural or SEMH needs
* Confidence managing behaviour in high-pressure or challenging situations
* A background in youth work, mentoring, inclusion or school-based pastoral care
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with students and families
* Calm, consistent and professional approach to supporting school-wide behaviour

* Accessible via Highbury & Islington, Caledonian Road and Finsbury Park stations

* Easily commutable from Camden, Hackney, and Haringey
