Behaviour Mentor - Secondary School - Hackney
Full Time | Term Time Only | January Start
Up to 500 take-home per week | Long Term Role (Temp to Perm)

Long Term Futures are working with a progressive secondary school in Hackney to appoint a committed Behaviour Mentor to support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 who require targeted behaviour, emotional and pastoral support.

This is a highly rewarding role suited to someone confident working with young people who display challenging behaviour and require consistent, positive role modelling. You will play a key role in helping students re-engage with learning, develop emotional regulation skills, and build resilience both inside and outside the classroom.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 behaviour and pastoral support for students across KS3 and KS4
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, conflict resolution and engagement
  • Implement behaviour support plans and restorative approaches
  • Work closely with the SENCo, pastoral team and senior leadership
  • Support students in lessons, intervention rooms and during unstructured times
  • Promote positive behaviour, inclusion and school values


Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with young people displaying challenging behaviour or SEMH needs
  • A calm, resilient and consistent approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence working in a secondary school environment
  • Background in youth work, mentoring, behaviour support or pastoral care (desirable)
  • Understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management strategies


Location and Transport - Hackney, East London

  • Easily accessible via Hackney Central, Hackney Downs, Homerton, Dalston Junction
  • Excellent transport links including Overground services and bus routes: 30, 38, 55, 106, 236, 242, 276
  • On-site parking available (school dependent)
