Principal Education is hiring Behaviour Mentors and Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) for PRUs and specialist behaviour units in Ilford (Redbridge) and nearby (Barking & Dagenham, Newham, Waltham Forest, Havering).

The role
  • Targeted support for pupils with SEMH/behavioural needs and SEN (ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia).

  • 1:1 and small-group work in and out of class; de-escalation and restorative practice.

  • Full-time, Monday–Friday for consistency and progress.

Must-haves
  • Right to work in the UK.

  • Experience supporting SEN/SEMH/behaviour (PRU or alternative provision ideal).

  • Calm authority, patience, empathy, solid communication.

  • Enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain). Overseas police check if abroad 6+ months in last 5 years.

  • Based in/near Ilford or within a commutable distance (Elizabeth line links helpful).
