Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Biomedical Scientist to join a well-established Haematology Department within a prestigious private healthcare provider in Central London. Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a full range of Haematology investigations, including blood counts, coagulation testing, blood film morphology, and specialist haematology procedures.

  • Analyse and interpret laboratory results accurately, ensuring a high standard of patient care.

  • Operate and maintain a variety of automated haematology analysers after competency-based training.

  • Participate in internal quality control (IQC) and external quality assurance (EQA) schemes.

  • Assist in stock control, method development, and validation of new testing equipment.

  • Adhere to laboratory policies, procedures, and UKAS ISO 15189 standards.

  • Support senior biomedical scientists with day-to-day laboratory operations and contribute to ongoing service improvements.

Requirements:
  • HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist (Haematology discipline).

  • Demonstrable post-registration experience in a UKAS-accredited Haematology laboratory.

  • Strong technical skills in full blood counts, coagulation studies, blood film examination, and specialist testing.

  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and patient data entry.

  • Team-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high-quality laboratory standards and improving patient outcomes.

Working Hours & Contract Duration:
  • Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.

  • Initially core hours (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM), transitioning to a 24/7 rota once competencies are signed off.

  • Initial contract duration of 3 months, with strong potential for extension based on performance and service needs.
