We are seeking an Operations Assistant for a physically active role involving the transportation of books within the national library. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work and is interested in learning about our collections.
Day-to-day of the role:- Push barrows from the basements to the reading rooms using the lifts, with deliveries occurring every hour.
- Sort out the items that are to be delivered to various locations.
- Deliver items to reading rooms and return to the basements with the empty barrow.
- Spend downtime in the storage area assigned to you, where you can learn about the collection.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Good organisational skills to manage timely deliveries.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
