This client is a thriving law firm with offices in central London. They are well known for their work in insurance, the professions, and the construction industry. They are now looking to hire a Legal Cashier to join their small team.

Our client is looking for a Credit controller to provide an important support service to the Partners and Fee Earners in all aspects of debt management.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for ensuring that all credit control functions are completed.
  • Responsible for ensuring that client invoices are paid in a timely manner.
  • Communicating with clients on a daily basis to chase outstanding debts over 30 days old for the firm’s four offices.
  • Keeping up to date information regarding outstanding debts stored on the firm’s accounting system, Peppermint.
  • Helping to reduce the firms lock up and ultimately continue to maintain the debtor days at an acceptable level.
  • Arranging regular meetings with Partners, either in the office or via teams to discuss actions to be taken on overdue debts.
  • When possible, to assist with other duties within the accounts department as assigned by the Head of Accounts.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience working as a Credit controller in a legal environment is essential.
  • Experience of insurance billing and understanding of the markets is desirable, but training will be given.
  • E-Billing experience, e.g., Serengeti, Legal-X, & Tymetrix would be advantageous, but training will be given.
  • Experience and understanding of apportionment (multi-party), net recovery and joint billing is desirable.
  • Experience with working with the firm’s systems (Peppermint, e-billing packages and iManage) would be advantageous.
  • An understanding of foreign currency issues is desirable.
