Reporting to: Vice Principal 

 

Aston Education is looking for a Director of Ethos and Culture for an Ofsted Good Church of England secondary school in Lambeth, South London. This role is a senior leadership role.

 

The Director of Ethos and Culture plays a central role in sustaining and promoting the Christian ethos, culture, and values of the school.

 

In this role you'll ensure that every student can flourish academically, socially, and personally within a safe, inclusive, and values-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Planning, managing, and sustaining processes that develop and embed the school's values across all areas
  • Serve as a DSL with full oversight of safeguarding policies and practice
  • Maintain the school advisory programme
  • Build and maintain links with local schools and the wider community
  • Ensure positive behaviour practices, including managing internal and external suspensions

 

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

  • Degree and teaching qualification with QTS/QTLS
  • Middle leadership experience with demonstrable impact
  • NPQ or equivalent (desirable)
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Senior leadership experience with demonstrable impact (desirable)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and education systems
  • Effective time management and IT competence (Google Education Suite)
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and student success
