Are you a practical, hands-on individual with a passion for design and technology?A secondary school in Newham is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Design & Technology Technician to support its vibrant DT department from September 2025.

The Role:

As a DT Technician, you'll play a key part in helping deliver engaging and safe practical lessons across a range of design subjects, including Product Design, Engineering, and possibly Food Technology. You'll be responsible for preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a smooth, safe, and inspiring learning environment for students.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, set up, and maintain tools, materials, and machinery for practical DT lessons
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Assist teaching staff and support students during practical sessions
Maintain stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory
Carry out routine maintenance and safety checks on machinery and tools

What We're Looking For:

Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in a school or workshop environment
Practical knowledge of using and maintaining DT tools and machinery
Strong understanding of health & safety practices (COSHH, CLEAPSS knowledge desirable)
Organised, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a team
A background in design, engineering, or a related technical field is a plus
