I am currently recruiting for a Fabric Technician to join the night shift team on a prestigious commercial contract based in the heart of the City of London. Working within a modern, high-end office environment, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the fabric and aesthetics of the building, keeping the space safe, smart, and compliant around the clock.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in commercial property maintenance who enjoys night work and thrives in a professional, well-maintained setting.
Key Responsibilities-
Carry out planned and reactive fabric maintenance across the building including doors, ceilings, flooring, walls, tiling, and glazing.

Conduct minor repairs such as patch plastering, painting, door adjustments, lock changes, and basic carpentry.

Support health & safety best practices and ensure compliance with all relevant building standards.

Perform routine inspections of internal and external areas to identify defects and hazards.

Carry out minor plumbing tasks (e.g. unblocking sinks, changing taps, replacing WC seats).

Maintain site standards and cleanliness across plant rooms, risers, and public areas.

Support the day team where required through clear handovers and maintenance logs.

Liaise with security, cleaning, and other out-of-hours staff to ensure smooth building operations.

Accurately complete reports and CAFM system logs for all work undertaken.
Essential:
-
Proven experience as a Fabric Technician / Maintenance Operative / Handyman in a commercial environment.

Skilled in basic carpentry, painting/decorating, door hardware repair, and general building upkeep.

Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and working safely at night.

Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain a proactive attitude.

Comfortable using tablets or handheld devices to log work through a CAFM system.

Strong communication and customer service skills.
Desirable:

CSCS Card or similar H&S certification

PASMA/IPAF/Working at Height training
-
Basic plumbing or HVAC knowledge

Experience working in high-end office buildings or corporate settings
