Quantum Scholars is excited to be working with a reputable secondary school in London to recruit an experienced Head of Department for Design and Technology, set to start in September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and accomplished leader in the field of Design and Technology to join a school committed to providing high-quality education.

The school hiring are located in London. The school are rated as a "Good" school by Ofsted. They have created an enviorment where students and staff feel valued and supported. It is a mixed, comprehensive secondary school which caters to ages 11-18 years old.

Key Requirements:

  • Leadership Experience: A strong background in leadership within the Design and Technology department or similar role.

  • Right to Work in the UK: You must have the legal right to work in the UK.

  • Availability: Must be available to start in September 2025.

  • Experience in Teaching and Curriculum Design: Significant experience in teaching Design and Technology at secondary school level, with a deep understanding of the curriculum and how to engage and inspire students.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to lead a team, manage a department, and collaborate with other staff members effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Department Leadership: Oversee the planning, delivery, and assessment of the Design and Technology curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of all students.

  • Curriculum Development: Lead curriculum innovation, design new projects and initiatives to ensure the department remains current and forward-thinking.

  • Staff Management: Manage and support a team of teachers, ensuring they have the resources, training, and motivation to deliver outstanding lessons.

  • Student Achievement: Drive improvements in student outcomes and monitor progress through regular assessments and feedback.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments and school leadership to support whole-school initiatives and ensure alignment with school goals.

  • Health and Safety: Ensure that all health and safety procedures are followed within the department.
