THE ROLE

As the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, you will be instrumental in shaping the financial strategy of the firm, providing critical insights to partners and executive leadership. You will lead a talented team whilst working closely with practice group leaders and regional finance heads.

Head of FP&A Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the firm's comprehensive financial planning processes, including annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range strategic planning
  • Develop sophisticated financial models and investment analyses to support executive decision-making
  • Lead the evolution of FP&A capabilities, implementing best-in-class methodologies and leveraging advanced analytics
  • Partner with practice group leaders to optimise performance and identify growth opportunities
  • Oversee financial evaluation of strategic initiatives including expansions, acquisitions, and new service offerings
  • Present complex financial insights to senior stakeholders in a compelling, accessible manner
  • Build and develop a high-performing FP&A function that serves as a trusted business partner across the organisation
  • Drive continuous improvement through technology adoption and process enhancement
THE CANDIDATE

Our client requires an accomplished finance professional with exceptional analytical capabilities and commercial insight. The ideal Head of FP&A will bring:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with significant years post-qualification experience and ideally Big Trained
  • Proven track record in leading FP&A functions within professional services, preferably legal or comparable partnership environments
  • Sophisticated understanding of professional services economics and partner-led organisations
  • Experience working with executive leadership on strategic initiatives and investment decisions
  • Strong leadership abilities with evidence of building and developing high-performing teams
  • Advanced financial modelling skills and deep technical expertise in planning methodologies
  • Exceptional stakeholder management capabilities and executive-level communication skills
  • Strategic thinking combined with pragmatic, solution-oriented approach
  • Experience implementing or enhancing financial planning systems and processes
  • Resilience and adaptability in navigating complex, matrix organisations
