Head of Health & Safety

Venn Group is working with a prestigious company providing luxury retirement living to recruit a Head of Health and Safety to lead across their residences, ensuring Health & safety is at the forefront of their role to provide residents with an outstanding experience.

Salary: up to £70k DOE (pro rata)

Duration: 6 months FTC initially

Hours: Monday to Friday

Location: London

The successful candidate will:

  • Advise Senior Management and the Board on current and emerging health, safety and welfare legislation, including evaluating options, making recommendations and generating action plans
  • Support the Health and Safety Committee and provide support and guidance on all Health and Safety matters
  • Carry out audits to evaluate the effectiveness of the health and safety systems and procedures and develop a Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP)
  • Ensure statutory compliance and develop systems and reporting methods to ensure compliance
  • Create/support the writing of Risk Assessments and Method Statements, Safe Systems of Work, providing specialist advice, coaching and practical support
  • Support teams in completing any actions required from internal/external audits and risk assessments e.g. Fire Risk Assessment
  • Provide support for contractor management, the reviewing of RAMS and implementation of Permit to Work policy

The successful candidate will have:

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
  • Profound knowledge of the Building Safety Act
  • Experience in the residential, leisure or hospitality sectors
  • Construction and fire related qualifications would be beneficial
