HLTA - Secondary School - Newham

Long Term Futures are working with a dynamic and high-achieving secondary school in Newham to recruit a confident and capable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for September.

This school is known for its professional development opportunities, structured progression pathways and inclusive ethos. You will be joining a dedicated support team delivering interventions and classroom cover across the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:* Lead small group interventions and academic catch-up for targeted students* Deliver whole-class cover lessons across subjects when teachers are absent or in training* Support the implementation of behaviour and learning plans in partnership with the SEN and pastoral teams* Assist with curriculum planning and resource preparation* Mentor junior teaching assistants and provide in-class guidance

Ideal Candidate Will Have:* HLTA status or equivalent experience in a secondary school* Strong curriculum knowledge across KS3 and KS4* Excellent classroom management and flexibility* A proactive approach to learning and student engagement

Location and Transport - Newham* Served by Plaistow, Stratford and Canning Town stations (District, Jubilee, DLR, Overground)* Local bus routes: 241, 262, 473, 325
