Junior EHS Advisor

Contract: Full-time, Site-based (5 days/week)
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000Â

About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Junior EHS Advisor to join our Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) team. This role is ideal for someone early in their EHS career who is eager to develop skills, gain hands-on experience in the construction/civil engineering sector, and contribute to building a strong safety culture. The successful candidate will work closely with the HSEQ Lead and EHS Advisors, supporting day-to-day safety activities and learning through mentoring and training.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the EHS team in promoting a positive safety culture across projects.
Â
- Assist in site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Â
- Help maintain accurate records of incidents, near misses, and safety observations.
Â
- Participate in the preparation of risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work under supervision.
Â
- Assist with hazard identification on projects before commencement.
Â
- Support toolbox talks, inductions, and basic training initiatives.
Â
- Help in the preparation of HSEQ reports and contribute to data collection for performance monitoring.
Â
- Accompany and learn from senior team members during site visits, meetings, and liaison with contractors or enforcing authorities.
Â
- Stay up to date with relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation and company policies.
Â
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility as skills and knowledge develop.

Requirements
- Valid UK Driving Licence (essential).
Â
- Valid CSCS Card (essential, or willingness to obtain).
Â
- Interest in civil works/construction environment (experience desirable but not essential).
Â
- Working towards or holding a NEBOSH Certificate / IOSH Membership (desirable, training support available).
Â
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

- Positive attitude, proactive approach, and willingness to learn.
