Parking Engineer
A South London council is seeking a Parking Engineer to join its Parking Design Team. This role will support the delivery of parking and traffic management projects, helping to improve road safety, accessibility, and the efficient use of street space.
Main responsibilities:
路Design, implement and monitor parking schemes, including Controlled Parking Zones and other restrictions.
路Carry out site surveys and traffic assessments, producing detailed design plans using CAD.
路Draft reports for committees and senior managers, presenting technical and complex information clearly.
路Provide cost estimates, prepare works orders, and liaise with contractors on implementation.
路Ensure signage and carriageway markings comply with statutory requirements.
路Work with residents, businesses, Transport for London, emergency services, and other stakeholders.
About you:
路Qualified to ONC/OND/HNC/BTEC or degree level in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
路Practical experience in traffic or parking scheme design, with knowledge of relevant legislation.
路Proficiency in AutoCAD, Word, Excel and GIS systems.
路Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage your own workload.
路Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
路Full driving licence.
