Aston Education is working with an Ofsted Good two-form entry Primary Academy in Lewisham, Southeast London, looking for a full-time SEND LSA (Learning Support Assistant) to start on 2nd February 2026.

Key job responsibilities:
As a SEND LSA, you'll work in the Reception and Year 1 classes and support children with SEND, primarily ASD and SEMH.
You'll work with pupils on 1:1 and small groups and take responsibility for pupils' progress and attainment and track pupil progress against individual targets and provide supportive pupil intervention activities.
You'll organise and manage appropriate learning environment and resources and plan challenging teaching and learning objectives to evaluate and adjust lessons/work plans as appropriate.
You'll promote positive values, attitudes and good pupil behaviour and support the education and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the Principal, the SENCO, Dyslexia Lead Teacher, and class teachers.

Qualifications, experience, and skills required include:
- A*-C grade in English and Maths at GCSE level or equivalent
- TA / LSA qualification
- Experience working in class with primary aged pupils
- Experience of working with children with SEND (ASD and SEMH)
- Calm, patient and caring attitude with a good sense of humour
- A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
- Passion to make a positive difference

The role is dependent upon the pupil(s) attending the school and ceases if he/she leaves the school, or if SEND funding ceases or circumstances change. Hours are dependent on funding and will be reduced (with notice) if funding is reduced or circumstances change.
