Senior / Principal Noise Consultant - London - £55,000 to £70,000 + Benefits

A leading UK-based Environmental and Acoustics Consultancy is seeking a Senior or Principal Noise Consultant to join their established team in London. This is a high-impact role suited to an experienced consultant looking to lead complex noise and vibration projects across planning, infrastructure, and urban development.

Essential Criteria:

  • A degree in Acoustics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 6-10 years' experience in acoustic consultancy, with a strong focus on environmental noise and planning.

  • Proven project management experience and ability to deliver complex assessments on time and within budget.

  • Proficiency in industry-standard noise modelling software (e.g., CadnaA, SoundPLAN).

  • Excellent communication and client liaison skills.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Chartered status (e.g., MIOA or CEng) or actively working towards it.

  • Familiarity with transport noise, large infrastructure schemes, and/or DCO work.

  • Experience managing or mentoring junior consultants.

  • Ability to lead bid writing or support business development.

The Role:As a Senior or Principal Noise Consultant, you will take the lead on high-value noise and vibration projects in the capital and beyond. You'll work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, planners, and stakeholders-contributing technical expertise, strategic input, and leadership across your portfolio.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading environmental noise and vibration assessments.

  • Preparing and reviewing technical reports for planning applications and environmental statements.

  • Managing client relationships and contributing to team growth.

  • Mentoring junior consultants and supporting internal knowledge-sharing.

  • Overseeing project delivery from proposal through to final submission.
