Job Title: Senior Estimator

Location: London

Package: £80,000 - £85,000 + bonus

Skilled Careers are currently working with a Main Contractor who are looking for a Senior Estimator to join their team based in North London. It is an exciting time to join them as they prepare to move into their purpose-built new offices next year, which form part of their £28m mixed-use development.

Duties

Proficient in preparing Bills of Quantities and schedules of work.
Use of Conquest estimating software.
Select subcontractors that are suitable for the works that are being tendered and can cope with the work in the proposed timescales.
Adhere to all standard company processes and procedures.
Take full ownership of the tenders you manage.
Ensure supply chain quotes are selected for competitiveness accuracy and compliance for bids.
Work in conjunction with the operations team to support the production of tender programmes.
Engage with the Operations teams to include the Prelim and constructional complexities in the tender.
Work with the Bid & Marketing Team to reflect the quality submission in the tender submission.
Building and maintaining effective client and supplier relationships.
Ensuring key risks and opportunities are identified.

Requirements

Meet tender deadlines
Complete tenders with an accurate competitive net cost.
Achieving a win rate better than 1 in 4.
Be able to estimate on a wide variety of project types ranging from D&B and JCT traditional forms of contract in the £200k to £4 million range.
Build up relationships with subcontractors so that they will price regularly.
