We are working with a supportive mainstream secondary school in Waltham Forest that is seeking a committed Special Needs Teaching Assistant to support students with additional needs. This long-term role involves working both one-to-one and in small groups, supporting pupils with SEN to access learning and develop confidence within a secondary school environment.

Role Overview:

  • Provide targeted one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN

  • Support learning across the curriculum, helping pupils stay engaged and on task

  • Implement strategies to support students with needs such as ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties

  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and independence

  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCO, and support staff to meet EHCP targets

  • Help maintain a structured, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

About You:

  • Experience supporting students with SEN in a school or similar setting

  • Confident working with secondary-aged pupils

  • Patient, calm, and adaptable approach

  • Able to follow support plans and guidance from teaching and SEN staff

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
