We are working with a supportive mainstream secondary school in Waltham Forest that is seeking a committed Special Needs Teaching Assistant to support students with additional needs. This long-term role involves working both one-to-one and in small groups, supporting pupils with SEN to access learning and develop confidence within a secondary school environment.
Role Overview:

Provide targeted one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN

Support learning across the curriculum, helping pupils stay engaged and on task

Implement strategies to support students with needs such as ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties

Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and independence
-
Work closely with class teachers, SENCO, and support staff to meet EHCP targets

Help maintain a structured, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
About You:

Experience supporting students with SEN in a school or similar setting
-
Confident working with secondary-aged pupils
-
Patient, calm, and adaptable approach

Able to follow support plans and guidance from teaching and SEN staff

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
