Job Overview:

Our Client is seeking an experienced and proactive UK Tax Manager to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of UK direct and indirect tax compliance and advisory work, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and optimising the group’s tax position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage UK corporation tax compliance, including preparation and submission of tax returns.

  • Oversee VAT compliance and reporting, ensuring timely and accurate filings.

  • Provide technical tax advice on a range of issues including transfer pricing, R&D tax credits, and group relief.

  • Monitor changes in UK tax legislation and assess the impact on the business.

  • Liaise with HMRC, external advisors, and auditors on tax matters.

  • Manage tax audits and inquiries efficiently and effectively.

  • Ensure appropriate tax accounting in financial statements (including deferred tax).

  • Assist with tax planning initiatives to minimise tax liabilities.

  • Support business operations with tax-efficient structuring and transaction advice.

  • Train and mentor junior members of the tax or finance team as needed.

  • Collaborate with international finance and tax teams (if applicable) on cross-border tax matters.

Key Requirements:

  • ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent tax qualification.

  • Strong experience in UK corporate tax, with exposure to VAT and other UK taxes.

  • Post-qualification experience, preferably in a Big 4 or large in-house tax team.

  • Solid understanding of UK tax legislation and compliance requirements.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Proficient in tax software and MS Office applications.

Desirable:

  • Experience in international tax and transfer pricing.

  • Experience working in multiple sectors will be considered.
