Astral Legal have partnered with a global Insurer as they are recruiting a Wordings Counsel to join their Legal team.

The ideal Wordings Counsel will handle the following.

*To be responsible for the design, technical content and final production of insurance documentation including Policy Wordings, Evidence of Cover documents, Certificates of Insurance and Reinsurance, IPID's, Proposal Forms and Promotional/Marketing brochures; *To draft or approve documentation across the full range of products underwritten by the business.*To provide advice and support to underwriters on all Wordings related matters and to operate Wordings advice*To maintain a library of wordings for use by underwriters; *To act as a member of the Product Oversight Group providing wordings advice and support to the Group on SME Products; *To develop and maintain clear and simple wordings for the companies SME customers; *To develop good relationships with underwriters, brokers, cover holders and internal stakeholders; *To communicate market and regulatory guidance in respect of policy wordings/exclusionary language to internal stakeholders; *To provide support to compliance, delegated authority and underwriting management functions in drafting insurance specific agreements and documents, such as binding authority agreements; *To conduct training for staff as required;

Commercial: *To review and negotiate commercial agreements; *To maintain a UK 'playbook' to put in place standard requirements for commercial agreements; *To develop a relationship with selected corporate and commercial counsel to streamline the review
