An exciting opportunity is available for a Yard Operative to join a family owned builders merchant at their branch in Kennington. This role plays a vital part in daily operations, helping to maintain warehouse organisation and ensuring a safe and productive working environment.

Requirements:

  • Counterbalance Forklift experience is beneficial but not essential

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

  • Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely load and unload delivery vehicles, ensuring materials are stored correctly

  • Maintain yard stock and keep materials organised for efficient access

  • Assist customers with loading/unloading and provide excellent service and advice

  • Comply with health and safety regulations, keeping the yard clean and hazard-free

  • Work collaboratively with team members to support efficient yard operations and timely deliveries

  • Carry out additional tasks including manual handling and general site maintenance
