Veritas Education is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and well-organised 2 form entry primary school in Islington for an experienced KS1 Teacher to take on a Year 1 class. This role requires a confident practitioner and is not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs).



The Role:

  • Full class teaching responsibility for a Year 1 cohort

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned with the KS1 curriculum and phonics expectations

  • Managing behaviour effectively and creating a positive, structured learning environment

  • Supporting pupils with some SEN, ensuring learning is accessible and inclusive

  • Using ongoing assessment to track progress and inform planning

  • Working closely with the parallel class teacher and KS1 team

  • Building strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues



The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold QTS and have solid experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 1

  • Be confident in behaviour management and setting clear expectations

  • Have a good understanding of supporting children with SEN in a mainstream setting

  • Be organised, resilient, and adaptable

  • Work well as part of a collaborative team

  • Have post-ECT teaching experience (essential)
