We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded secondary school in the Camden area for a Science Technician to join their dynamic science department on a part-time basis (3 days per week). This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled technician or a science graduate looking to gain school-based experience in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Job Title: Science Technician

Working Days: 3 days per week (specific days negotiable)
Contract Type: Ongoing (with potential for extension)
Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing, setting up, and distributing equipment and materials for science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
- Supporting teaching staff with practical lessons and demonstrations
- Ensuring laboratories and prep rooms are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and safety
- Managing stock levels and placing orders for equipment and chemicals when required
- Assisting with the safe disposal of waste materials and adherence to health & safety regulations (COSHH, CLEAPSS guidelines)
- Maintenance and calibration of scientific apparatus
- Supporting students and staff during practical activities where appropriate
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Science Technician in a school or laboratory environment
- Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures related to science equipment and chemicals
- A science-related qualification (A-levels or degree) is advantageous
- Good organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to undergo a DBS check
