We are currently recruiting a dedicated and reliable Science Technician to join a vibrant and well-resourced secondary school in Wandsworth. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in science who enjoys practical work and supporting the learning of young people.

The successful candidate will work closely with the science department to prepare, maintain, and organise laboratory equipment and materials for practical science lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and setting up practical equipment and materials for science experiments

  • Assisting teachers during practical lessons when needed

  • Ensuring the safe storage and disposal of chemicals and materials

  • Maintaining a clean and safe laboratory environment

  • Monitoring and replenishing stock levels

  • Supporting students' learning through technical guidance when appropriate

Requirements:

  • A background in science (e.g. a science qualification or relevant lab experience)

  • Understanding of health and safety practices in a lab setting

  • Organised, proactive, and able to work independently

  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

  • Previous experience in a school setting is desirable but not essential
