A family run joinery company on the outskirts of Colchester are currently recruiting for a Bench Joiner.
Overview:
As a Bench Joiner, you will be working in a traditional workshop, reporting into the Workshop Supervisor and will be manufacturing bespoke products such as doors, windows plus much more.
This is a permanent role with a 3-month probation period, paying between 15 - 17 per hour, depending upon experience.
What does the position involve?
- As a Bench Joiner you will be required to read from technical drawings/cutting lists daily
- Oversee blade replacement schedules
- Regular machinery maintenance to ensure that they are running as efficiently as possible
- Reporting stock levels or machine errors to Workshop Supervisor
- Quality checking of products to ensure that they meet the company standards
- Working with colleagues on the shop floor to ensure that production deadlines are hit
Candidate requirements:
- Experience working within a joinery environment
- Proficient user of hand/power tools and woodwork machinery
- Capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to read from technical drawings
