We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Education Officer to join our local authority team on an initial three-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is crucial for implementing planned programmes of activities in line with the Early Years curriculum, ensuring each child develops to their full potential.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Collaborate with the Senior CC officer/Teacher/Room Leader/Extended Services Leader to plan and implement activities.
  • Support children's learning under the guidance of the Room Leader/Senior/Teacher.
  • Encourage children’s development, independence, and problem-solving skills.
  • Oversee the introduction and settling in process for children and families, including initial home visits.
  • Initiate and implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in liaison with the SENCO.
  • Assist in Early Years Child Protection Procedures and attend meetings as required.
  • Serve meals and snacks, ensuring adherence to food hygiene requirements.
  • Support children in dressing, undressing, and toilet needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in a similar role within early years education.
  • Strong understanding of the Early Years curriculum and child development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professionals and parents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to equalities and safeguarding the welfare of children.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain high standards of hygiene and safety.
