The Clove Club is an award winning 2 Michelin Starred fine dining restaurant, set in the historic rooms of the Grade II-listed Shoreditch Town Hall, London.


We are looking for an experienced and passionate Assistant General Manager to join our team. Led by General Manager Nicholas Carlino, with Restaurant Manager Daniel Ribeiro.


As a Two Michelin Star Restaurant, we strive to meet and exceed the high standards we set for ourselves every day. This job will suit someone dedicated and passionate about our industry and excited about where it can take them in the world.


Experience in a Michelin star restaurant or 5 star hotel or similar is preferred.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Oversight - Supporting the General Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service from opening to closing procedures.

  • Recruitment, training and mentorship of staff

  • Monthly payroll

  • Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring all guests receive a positive, memorable, and high-quality dining experience, and professionally handle complaints and feedback.

  • Monitor and uphold high standards for food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and safety, ensuring compliance with company and legal standards.

  • Collaborate on strategies to drive sales, attract new customers, and achieve overall business objectives.

  • Serve as a bridge between the front-line employees and the General Manager, communicating effectively with both.

  • Leadership: Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team effectively.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and interpersonal skills for interacting with guests and team members.

  • Customer Service: A passion for delivering outstanding hospitality and guest experiences.

  • Multi-tasking & Time Management: Ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently during busy periods.

  • Problem-Solving: Skill in resolving customer complaints and addressing operational issues promptly.

  • Knowledge of Restaurant Operations: Familiarity with food safety, inventory management, and basic culinary techniques.

  • Proactiveness: A willingness to learn, help others, and take initiative.

  • Strong knowledge of epos and reservation systems as well as google suite and Adobe InDesign
